NutriBullet Reviews

There are many NutriBullet reviews online, both positive and negative. When you consider the amount of appliances in your kitchen, you are most likely asking yourself why you need another one. The NutriBullet claims to be a blender, mixer, and juicer in one. But should you go out and buy one?

Is The NutriBullet The Perfect Blend?

The NutriBullet was all over TV when it was released and for a few years after. At the time of release, NutriBullet was one of the only single serve blenders on the market. In the last few years, there are more options for single serve blenders. The NutriBullet is still very popular, and are now available at most major retailers including Amazon. However, the NutriBullet has its Pros and Cons

Pros

Before looking at the cons, let’s look at what made the NutriBullet a success.

Size

Unlike many other kitchen appliances, the NutriBullet was designed to be small and easy to store. Assembly is also easy since you just need to screw on the lid and push down. The cleaning is also easy to do. There are two sizes of cups of the NutriBullet, 700ml, and 400ml.

Simple to Use

Compared to other juicers and kitchen appliances, the NutriBullet has only three pieces, making it easy to assemble. Simply fill the cup with food, and do not pass the fill line. Then screw on the cap tightly, place the cup on the NutriBullet base, and push down and twist to start the blending.

Speed

Thanks to the high-speed blades, and the shape of the NutriBullet cups, the NutriBullet can quickly blend food into a very smooth texture. The thickest of the food will depend on the amount of liquid that you add. For most items, you will only need to blend for around 30 seconds to get this texture. However, nuts, seeds and harder fruits and vegetables will take longer.

No Pulp

While pulp is good for the body, not everyone likes the texture of pulp. Most juicers will remove the pulp automatically, placing it in another jug so that it can be disposed of. However, that is messy and just another item that needs to be cleaned. The high-speed blades of the NutriBullet solve most of this problem by liquefying the skins, stems, and seeds. While there is still some pulp texture, it is not as bad.

Great for the Newbie Juicer

The NutriBullet comes with a recipe book that makes juicing easy. It is also great for people who do not like to measure, as the recipe book uses the NutriBullet cup to measure or lists whole food items.

It Multitasks

There is a mill blade that comes with the NutriBullet. This blade can ground up coffee beans, nuts, seed, and oats.

Cons

While the NutriBullet is overall great, it does have some issues. Here are some of the common issues with the NutriBullet.

Hard to Tighten and Remove Blades

This one of the major downfalls of the NutriBullet and could lead to messy clean ups. Since the blades are in the screw on lids, you need to make sure that the lid is on tight. If the lid is not on tight enough, you will have a mess. However, if the lid is screwed on too tightly, those with weak wrists will have a hard time unscrewing the lid. Another problem with the blades is that they are not dishwasher safe like the cups are. You will need to wash the blades in warm soapy water after each use.

The ‘Super Foods’ in the Recipes

While most of the recipes in the recipe book are good, there are still the recommendations for ‘super foods’ like acai and goji. You can simply replace these items with foods that you prefer. Many of the NutriBullet Recipes are just half leafy greens, half fruit, and around ¼ cup of nuts or seeds to make it a ‘super boost’.

Bad Seeds

The NutriBullet claims that it can blend all stems and seeds, but not all stems and seeds are edible because they are toxics. The NutriBullet recipe book does point these foods out. The skins of some foods like grapes do not process well. Some seeds and nuts in drinks are not full processed, which leaves a gritty feeling in the mouth. However, putting the seeds and nuts on top does help with the processing.

Final Thoughts

The NutriBullet is still a great option, especially if you are looking for a single serving blender. Its small, compact size makes it a great option for those living in small houses. It is also a cheaper option for a juicer. The lids can be hard to get on the cup, and you need to hand wash the blades. However, these are just a couple of minor complaints found in a few NutriBullet reviews.
